I haven't quite nailed it down yet, but it has something to do with road trips as a metaphor for life (I do a lot of driving).

Just a surfer for now. If I ever get my own place, I'll definitely become a host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

For the last several years, my livelihood has depended on being a good houseguest. I have never owned or leased my own place. I travel from city to city couchsurfing with friends, constantly on the move. My personal network is always growing, recommendations from friends and friends of friends have yielded amazing results in my travels.

I once crashed for three years as a guest in a friends' house in San Francisco...

Recently spent five weeks surfing around Europe: Madrid, Lyon, Leipzig, Berlin, Prague, Budapest, Glasgow, Dublin, Den Hague. Didn't once pay to sleep! (bought a lot of dinners for my hosts though)

Interests

Music. Movies. Reading. Travel. Visiting with friends. A good meal (either out or at home). Riding my bicycle. Watching or playing soccer.

I'll take staying in with a bottle of wine and good friends over a night on the town every time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once got a small cut climbing a fence into the Roman Colosseum at three in the morning. I have spilled blood in the Colosseum.

Got to go up in a stunt plane near Denali. Lots of maneuvers above the tundra. Managed to hold on to my lunch.

Crashed in a caravan on Great Barrier Island in New Zealand. Paid my way by washing dishes at the local pub.
