About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To experience life with others to the fullest
ABOUT ME
I have quit my job to see the world because I know there is so much out there that is worth experiencing at least once. I enjoy socialising and learning about how other countries have developed over the years and why people are the way they are. I believe that honesty and an open mind lead to the most meaningful relationships. I am also told that I ask too many questions and I should stop asking why so much!
While I love helping people through my work, I find joy in learning languages, learning about architecture, music playing, singing and photography. I have a growing cookbook collection and enjoy leafing through pages of yummy food to see what else I can cook. I also enjoy roaming around towns and cities but at the end the day, I find hiking and camping the best ways to see the world as it intended to be.
PHILOSOPHY
Never judge a person by the skin they're in.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Couchsurfing to me is not so much about the couch as it is the person who owns it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I really would like to host people when I return but alas my abode is not ready yet. So far I have surfed with:
Ella from Stockholm
Larson from Oslo
Stian from Trondheim
Tomi from Budapest
Ana from Ushuaia
Dima and Wen from Pucon
Frenando from Arequipa
Interests
I enjoy a plethora of music, independent films, muesli and yogurt (supposedly my stress reliever!), candid photography, organic architecture, reading thrillers, cooking for others, hiking in different parts of the world, sarcasm and furniture design. The list goes on...
- singing
- architecture
- design
- photography
- dining
- cooking
- movies
- reading
- music
- hiking
- kayaking
- camping
- languages
Music, Movies, and Books
I love quirky movies, and anything by Woody Allen and Steven Spielberg. Espionage and thrillers are so addictive. I love anything by Pixar too. I listen to mostly to jazz and alternative, with some nuggets of pop thrown in, and I prefer to listen to live versions of songs whenever possible.
I am becoming more of a voracious reader, especially when it comes to non fiction and learning about world cultures, politics, marketing, business and human behaviour and societal psychologies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
- Survived a 9 hour long kayak trip in Halong Bay in Vietnam with my girlfriend out in the middle of the sea and then nearly passing out from exhaustion. (She had to paddle me back to shore)
- Cycled the backhills of Kathmandu with no Nepalese knowledge, or even a map for that matter
- Drove the whole Great Ocean Road unwittingly and saw the 12 Apostles without err, meaning too. We ran out of petrol too and our car got immobilised due to a certain friend going into a certain ocean and immobilising a certain key to what WAS a certain way back home.
- Hiked the Torres Del Paine W Trek and the Los Glaciares National Park with my beloved
- Hiked Annapurn Poon Hill Circuit in Nepal
- Hiked for 11 days on the Tour de Mont Blanc with 6 other friends who flew across Europe to be with us
- Getting engaged :)
