ABOUT ME

I'm an adventurous girl who loves starry nights, mountains, road trips, making and drinking copious amounts of espresso, cheap sunglasses, and laughing until it hurts. My favorite language to communicate with is music. I am a singer/songwriter and I play guitar and a little piano. I can have as much fun exploring outdoors as shopping quaint locales. Meeting new people and having unique experiences feeds my spirit. I've grown up in the mountainous western states of Alaska, Montana, and Colorado, and am now happy to call Bozeman, Montana my home.

PHILOSOPHY

A humbling reality that I've spent a lot of time thinking about is how every other person I pass on the street or see in a coffeeshop is experiencing life with as much color and love and heartbreak and frustration as I am, but I'll probably never know their stories. I want to meet people and hear their stories. It's important to know you aren't alone in the world, and to catch a glimpse into the 7 billion+ different perspectives there are on it. Life is for discovering, loving, and sharing. Present me with an exciting opportunity and I'll rarely ever say "no."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I traveled throughout Europe last summer and it was amazing! I didn't end up actually couch surfing (though I did go on a hike with a couchsurfer in Iceland) but I'm still open to it and love the community.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all kinds of music. Mostly sung in English, of course, but I enjoy folksy acoustic, EDM, alternative/indie rock, and a little of something else from most genres (jazz to hip-hop and in between). Fleetwood Mac is my all-time favorite band. Also Queen Beyoncé. Some others are Bon Iver, Lorde, Frank Sinatra, Odesza... If you like music at all, I'm sure we have common ground somewhere.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last summer one of my favorite places I visited was Assisi in Italy. Such a cool medieval town that has not changed all that much over the centuries. We were there just before sunset and my friend and I ran up the hill and climbed onto a roof to get the most gorgeous view of the lush valley below before the sun disappeared below the horizon. Later that night, (after some cocktails and gelato) three of my other friends and I found this cool little archway in the really old part of town and started singing a version of Ave Maria that we do in our choir. It sounded beautiful and a crowd of people started surrounding us and applauded us when we finished. It was an all-around magical evening that I can never put a price on.

I am a very easy going person and I can offer stimulating conversation if you're willing to open up. Also I am happy to sing and play music for/with anyone! I can sing in a lot more languages than I can speak :)
