ABOUT ME
Currently studying political science at McGill University in Montreal. Living with two of my best mates in a sweet downtown apartment. I'll be graduating in less than two years, and will hopefully be able to get into grad school or grab a good internship with Canadian gov't or UN. Probably going to become a lifetime bureaucrat, which I have no objections to. Would love to retire from an embassy on a Caribbean island, that's the dream.
I'm a big partier, always up for having a drink and pull some shenanigans around town. I'm pretty chill, and get along with pretty much anyone.

PHILOSOPHY
Quite simply, life is about the pursuit of happiness. At the end of the day, as long as I am happy, and attaining my happiness has not impeded upon other's pursuits, then my life is heading in a good direction.
For me, happiness comes as I learn and gain new knowledge. So the more the know, the better I feel.
In terms of politics I am a major realist progressive social democrat (if that makes sense lol). Definitely on the left, but am not narrow-minded in terms of my political leanings. There is nothing I enjoy more than debating with someone who has totally different politics ideologies from me, it's the best way to improve/strengthen my own beliefs.
I also believe that people are inherently selfish, and only ever act within what they perceive to be in their own self interest. I just also like to think that people feel as though it is within their own best interest to help others. If you want to counter this belief hit me up and we can definitely chat it through legit lol.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
One of my best mates got me started on Couch Surfing during a trip throughout the United States. Now that I am back and settled in Montreal for the school year I am eager to give back to the community by offering a place to crash, and am definitely up for meeting some new cool people. Shit gets boring when you are idle in a city for to long, so having people stop by is always a good change. Love to hear some good travel tales.
Interests
I am really into politics and current events of all sorts, and am up for a conversation about pretty much anything varying from the latest sound bits on so and so's affair, to an intense debates on the whether or not the pre '67 borders should stand.
I like to listen to music, go to concerts, bike, eat pizza, party, beer, and have an unhealthy addiction to my longboard. Always up for an insane adventure.
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a huge music fan, with greatly varying taste. I listen to just about anything ranging from Canadian indie to hardcore dance pop, and to be honest, the best concert that I have ever been to was Lady Gaga at a club in Toronto. My favourites include:
Arcade Fire, Metric, Stars, Marilyn Manson, Billy Talent, Sloan, Robyn, Feist, Crystal Castles, The Hush Sound, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Sam Sparro, Scissor Sisters, the Cardigans, Frou Frou, and Kelis.
I'm not too big of a movie or television fan, but the movies that I do really get into involve some form of zombies or killing. The movies I've most enjoyed are 28 Days Later, Resident Evil, the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, and hopefully soon to be The Hobbit. My favourite TV show is by far the West Wing and Alias.
School has pretty much put me on a hiatus from reading non-academic books, so right now I stick to my news parallelogram consisting of The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Globe and Mail (Canada), and strikegently.com
Over the summer I did read two extremely enthralling novels, both of which were recommended by people who hosted me in the states, "Alas, Babylon" which was an amazing quasi-post-apocalyptic cold war nuclear fallout story, and "World War Z" which I'm sure most of you have heard of, which is a sick ass classic zombie warfare tale.
