ABOUT ME

I just completed a 7-month study abroad in France. I lived in Lyon and Paris and visited ten other countries while I was there. After that study abroad, I'm addicted to traveling!!! I want to see so much of the world, but I still have to stay in Michigan for two years to get my degree. Can't wait for these two years to be over!

My family and my education are the most important things in my life, and I will my miss my family desperately while I'm abroad, but it's time for me to go! It's important for me to be independent and I am pretty logical, but at the same time I love having people around me and having fun!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met a few people through CouchSurfing and CouchSurfed for my first time in Berlin, Germany. It was awesome!!

Interests

I am a very musical person. I've been singing for nine years, played piano for seven years, and was in competitive drumline for three years! I get this musicality from my family - I swear playing the violin runs in the family on my mom's side! She strongly encouraged my siblings and me to play an instrument.

Aside from that, I love my college and the people I've met there, and having fun is just as important as getting good grades!

Recently, I've also gotten more into cooking...it's a ton of fun, and my family definitely loves it!

I don't watch that many movies, but I like to watch TV. One amazing movie I saw recently was called "Alamar".

I used to love oldies and classic rock - the Beatles were my favorite for a long time! After classic rock, I started listening to alternative music. I also LOVE listening and dancing to Latin music. Recently, I've gotten into hip-hop/R&B. That music is really popular at my university and I hear it everywhere there! I can really appreciate most types of music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've climbed the Alps in shorts and sunglasses. I was in Barcelona when Spain won the EuroCup 2012. I went to the western-most point of continental Europe (in Portugal). I became obsessed with Irish music. I have made incredibly strong bonds with people I may never see again. I have tried so many different beers and discovered some favorites. I discovered a lot about my own country from traveling to different ones. ....and more to come!

Also, my current summer job is pretty awesome. I crew on a 85 foot boat. I'm a deckhand and I now know how to sail...and I get paid for doing it!
