About Me

We're a Japanese couple on a global journey, seeking to reassess our preconceptions. This mindset arose when I realized that, at crucial junctures in my life, I made decisions based on the common sense imparted by my parents, schools, companies, and media in Japan.

Rather than merely ticking off popular tourist sites found in guidebooks, our intention is to connect with locals and gradually absorb their cuisine, attire, housing, history, culture, and way of life.

Once our adventure concludes, we hope to expand our life options by drawing on the diverse customs we've encountered across the world.

Both my wife and I have IT backgrounds - I was a consultant for a Japanese AI company, and she was a web marketer for a Japanese internet firm.

We sincerely hope to find a welcoming host with whom we can share a delightful experience.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

insight into local life. Staying at hostels as a traveler doesn't provide a sufficient understanding of the local lifestyle. By interacting with people living in the area, sharing meals together, I believe I can better comprehend the local culture and this can lead to a transformation in my worldview.

Interests

I have a wide range of hobbies, with traveling being my top passion. I love visiting unfamiliar countries, experiencing their cultures, and broadening my horizons.

During my trips, I also enjoy learning new languages and reading books. I often read titles covering politics, economics, and history. Being a nature enthusiast, I like trekking in national parks and capturing photographs of landscapes and wildlife.

Back in my student days, I played table tennis as an athlete for 10 years. I've competed in national tournaments and even trained in China.
