Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

One amazing thing I did not deliberately do, and strictly speaking did not actually do, was not getting into a jewellery making course.

That rejection led a frustrated version of myself to sign up for the only thing available at the time: an introduction to chemistry and biological sciences access course. PS, I was 30 years old and had dropped out of high school at 16 and never once thought I’d go back.

Ten years later I had a PhD.

Moral of the story: if you had a problem with authority, rise above and channel it into science.
