About Me

Greetings Couch Surfers! My name is Keir, and I'm an Artist.

I attended the University of Minnesota - Duluth, for Graphic Design, I've played in gigging rock bands, I've dabbled in just about every art form there is. I'm very grateful to have had the opportunity to explore the many forms Art can take. I REALLY thought music was my calling. That was until I tried Jiu Jitsu for the first time.

That was just 3 years ago and it completely took over my life in the fall of 2015. January 2016, I flew to New Zealand to backpack for 3 months. Best trip and most pivotal 3 months of my life. There, Yoga entered my life. Once I returned from that trip, I knew that I was going to instruct and I was going to compete. That's what I've been doing the last 2 years :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is such an amazing platform to get people moving, traveling affordably, and meeting other like-minded people! I'm couch surfing for the first time because I have an option to teach Yoga in Tucson at one of my favorite Jiu Jitsu Schools - 10th Planet Tucson. The owner, Tony Birchak, and his wife Mercedes, are amazing people, and I've had my fill of Minnesota winters. I've spent 30 years in temperatures colder than Mars and in snow drifts taller than me; NO mas. The start of my snow-birding begins January 2019, who wants to yoga?
