About Me
UPDATE: After several weird requests and people cancelling their stays, I don't really host anymore (unless it's an emergency) -- but always open to meet up! Check out these affordable hostels or try Airbnb (there are cheaper single rooms in Brooklyn, Queens and the Bronx).

Hi everyone! My name is Keith and I'm originally from Louisville, Kentucky, but now live in New York City. I work as a communications associate for a social justice foundation dedicated to girls' and women's rights and other intersectional issues. I love to travel, learn languages and learn about the world. I've been using Couchsurfing since 2010 and I can only speak highly of this incredible service.
In 2009-2009, I did a language blog called 37 Languages (http://37languages.wordpress.com) in which I speed-dated a bunch of different languages to find the right one for me. After the project, I selected and studied Norwegian for four years. Check out the archive at http://www.pardonmynorwegian.com.
Apart from traveling and languages, I am an active karate student at my dojo, Traditional Okinawan Karate of Brooklyn (http://facebook.com/tokarate). I also love music, especially the Eurovision Song Contest! Also into karaoke, art, intersectional justice, queer and LGBTQ issues, reading, and meeting new people. I am interested in getting to know folks from all over the world!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have hosted and have also couchsurfed, and each time was a great experience. It's a wonderful opportunity for cultural exchange and to meet people from all over the world.
