I am a long time couch surfer, host, and world traveler. I am living these days between Japan and Israel, working as a sociologist/anthropologist, conducting interesting research on culture and identity of migrant groups. Satoko, my wife, and Elah, my daughter travel with me.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I participate on CS to get the local perspective. Most places in the world I've been to already, so what I really enjoy is getting to know the people. As a host, I appreciate surfers who are self-sustainable, as I am quite busy with my writing. However, I am always willing to show guests the sights and appreciate a good discussion. As a speaker of several languages, I find CS a great opportunity to get more exposure. I especially am kind to requests from surfers who are doing volunteer work.
