Overview
About Me
Canadian grown, with Scottish and Irish roots.
i grew up in Toronto, watching as it bloomed. i got in to the trades/home renovations with my brothers. they are older then i am, and have learned the trades from my father and uncle. so i joined the family business.
but as time was flying by i realized that i haven't seen enough of this world we live on. also my father and grandfather passed away 2 years a go. and it just made me realize how short life truly is.
so i packed my things and said its time to see the world to i only know of on t.v and in books. I have never been to Scotland, or Ireland. its on my list. but once a good friend of mine mentioned he was travailing to south east Asia. i had to join him on this journey. and so here i am doing what i wish i could have done at 25, doing it at the young age of 30 lol.
a little about me..
well im a spiritual person. i love meditation, just dont do it enough. i have my rakke certification, just been doing it on my self. as im not trained enough in my mind to heal others yet. ive learned simple massage therapy, as its always good to have some one help with muscle pain or in case of injury.
i try to live a simple life. besides life can get complicated enough, then the government adds on to that. i take a step back and realize that all the small things do matter.
and this all started when i entered my Martial Arts days. they enlightened me in many ways. its been years since my school has been open, but its not something ill ever forget.
im a very patient man. as i said im a simple man, living the simple life the best i can. when im quiet, its not a bad thing, im just taking it all in!
i always look on the bight side of life!
as ive always lived a active life style, i cant get enough of the out doors. taking scenery photos. ive always loved staring at the great mountains, an colorful forest, the active ocean life. and besides the forests i get to see back home, when i go camping. i needed to be in these moments more often. so i got my scuba diving licence, and my hiking shoes on, and ready for the moments when they arise. they say a picture says a 1000 words. but i also say it can just bring you peace, and happiness! and a short vacation for your mind, from your busy life.
ive started growing my hair, for the first time since i was 13. and i figure if i dont like it in a year, ill grow it until i can cut it to donate it for cancer. my beard well that just grows fast, and being in south east Asia. i figure why not. lol.
also at times im very quiet.. other times i dont stop talking. =P
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
well ive been in hostels for the past 2 months now. met a lot of really great people. but most of them are also travelers, and id figure maybe this way i can meet some local people and have a great conversation with them over a cup of tea. and maybe they can show me a good place to eat some local food. or at least let me know what food might kill me (food allergies).
ive heard great things from friends of mine who do this all the time, and ive always thought oddly about doing this. since i feel im imposing people.
and on the other hand, if was able to let some one crash at my place back home. i would do it with out thinking. if anything i would love to bring in many people to hear there stories, and share some food and drink.
so i figure it doesn't hurt if i just ask =P
