About Me

I am 29 years old and in law school at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. I'm currently on exchange at the University of Edinburgh, and doing some traveling while in Europe.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My boyfriend previously traveled all through Europe and Asia, and had some amazing couchsurfing experiences. He made meaningful connections with people and got to see some things in different cities that he never would've experienced if he was staying in hostel. I want to explore Europe and experience the local culture of different countries in this same way.

I also love hosting people. Whenever I have a visitor to Vancouver I take joy in showing them around my city and taking them to the lesser known, hidden gems of the city. I hope to return the favour when I return to Canada, and host some people at my apartment in Vancouver.

Interests

When traveling, I love eating out and drinking wine and coffee in new restaurants and cafes. I like to explore the outdoors, and am an avid mountain biker, skier, and am just starting to get into hiking. I also play volleyball and soccer in my free time.

Music, Movies, and Books

My love for music spans across all genres, but I would say I mostly listen to indie/alternative rock. I am currently reading the Goldfinch, but my favourite books of all time are Shantaram, A Fine Balance, and The World According to Garp.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I taught hotel and restaurant management to college students in China. I loved living in China, and learned a lot from my time there. Some of my most memorable experiences included holding a wine tasting for the students (many whom had never tasted alcohol before!) and baking a cake with them (their first time!).

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to teach you to cook my favourite dishes in Canada, and in return I would hope maybe you could share some cooking recipes with me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in a two bedroom apartment that I share with a roommate, but we have a large couch to sleep on.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, France, Japan, Laos, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Slovenia, United Kingdom, United States, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In
