ABOUT ME
My partner-in-crime Barry and myself are new to the Chicago metropolitan life! A little info, if you must:
myself: an artist, writer, director, carpenter, photographer?, basically scrappy in the realms of set designing, stage production, and interactive performance art. My favorite instrument is the rhodes... or the melodica... or the beats of a Casio keyboard.
Barry: a rad guitar / lap steel player, influenced by the likes of John Lee Hooker, D'Angelo, the Police... the list goes on... He studied geography but wants none other than for us to travel foreign lands and coral seas
basically... we are two creative, musical people looking in the direction to travel the Australia / SE Asia / all over the world AREA
PHILOSOPHY
"Live positive vibrations, always." -Marcello
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've couchsurfed in Berlin, the north German countryside, Bosnia, Austria, Santa Fe New Mexico, Albuquerque, Portland Oregon, Yoakum Texas, New York City... so many great experiences and people. My partner, brother and I recently took a bicycle trip in Texas-- this might be the greatest couchsurfing experience thus far. But there are too many to choose a favorite!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CS esta muy excelente-- my first couchsurfing experience was in Berlin and was amazing--my traveling friend and I got introduced to white asparagus and our couchsurfing host's favorite cocktail at the time, chocolate soy milk and vodka! I also got invited into a Tuscan home in the countryside by Firenze and had the most amazing, authentic dinner with strangers. The woman who invited me pressed her own olive oil from the olives in her front yard and made her own wine from her vineyard! Just, incredible... The last trip in Europe I took, my brothers and I were in a biergarten in Munchen and met a really sweet couple who asked if we needed a place to stay in Vienna, in which I ended up doing! So lovely... Having an open home for food or for beds is such a cool experience, and I want to do this more!
Interests
Knitting on the el train, cooking off the cuff from scratch, good cheese and wine, yoga, dive bars, kareoke, kareoke-ing in dive bars particularly!, practicing my Italian, the occasional run along Lake Michigan's beach... just ballin'
