Hello World!

Am Kellie, from little Island Mauritius! I like to describe myself as an Asian-looking, French/English/Creole speaking African islander as I really often get questioned about my nationality and my lack of Chinese language knowledge.
(Currently in the processes of changing that! Now living in China! )

My friends describe me as a really fun & social person. I also kind of agree with them because I really love meeting new people! I know that we can all learn from each other and I tend to do that by listening to people's stories and experience. I truly believe my most memorable travels will never be about the places I see but about the people I meet. :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing because I believe this is the best way to meet new people, get to truly discover a country and its culture, share with people with a like minded open mindset and create unique memories with the new friends I might make myself through CS.

Travelling as you might have guessed like many of us in here, you can also find me reading or looking forward to latest tech news. You can also find me hiking, spending some time with family & friends, playing some volleyball/table tennis/ squash or trying a new sport.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books I recommend: The Happiness of Pursuit by Chris Guillembeau, Playing Big by Tara Mohr, Sophie's World by Jostein Gaardner.

Music: I do listen to everything from classics from Schumann, The Oh Hello's folkish style, Charles Aznavour French classics through Balmhorea's modern instrumental pieces and Above & Beyond's unique trance music. I love discovering new music!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I spent that year in The Netherlands, lot of people ask me why I left Mauritius for the Netherlands when many people would love to go there. I totally love my country, but I think there's also a lot to discover & 6 billion people to meet out there and ! So here I am, trying to explore as much as I can of this world! :) Next living place: China, here I come!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach some French and English and share with you about the culture of my little island. I can do some graphic design work, give a helping hand to paint, build, help to plant or play with kids! I like to try and love learning new things! I am also an avid music lover and amateur pianist/guitarist. Let's jam! ;)
