About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To love, to care about every person in my path without limitation. I want to breathe life in deeply and rout out the doubts and the fears and the hesitations....who needs 'em?
ABOUT ME
I'm a dancer, a writer, a singer, a lover of God. I'm at a place in my life (23) where the expectations of earlier years to be important are falling away. Life is not about lifting up myself. I am enjoying this time of gratefulness and appreciation for life and for the Perfect One who created it all! At different times in my college career I have wanted to be a book editor, a professional modern dancer, a jazz singer, a full time fiction writer...oh the list goes on. So many talents and so much passion, what am I supposed to do with it all? Well, like Sylvia Plath's figs, if I don't reach for one then they will all shrivel up. I am reaching for the fig that represents the traveler, the student of life.
Interests
I love love LOVE to read. Last books I read: East of Eden, by Steinbeck and Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe. Currently reading: Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen. Next?: War and Peace, by Tolstoy. I love the Russians :)
I also love to dance, any and all kinds! I'm good at swing, salsa, modern/ballet...and I can't wait to improve my tango in Buenos Aires (4/11) ;)

Music, Movies, and Books
Book: White Noise, by Don Delillo. Why? Because I'm in my room and it caught my eye on the bookshelf. It's a haunting book that I wrote many papers about in college.
Music: Did I mention I am a karaoke diva? I'm Tina Turner in a petite white package, you better believe!
Movie: I can't get Breakfast at Tiffany's off my mind lately. Maybe that's because I just came back from Brazil. Oh, Holly Golightly.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Done: I was hiking and having lunch in the french village of Thorenc when I was 18 and just as we were packing up to leave, I took a running leap off the waterfall we had been enjoying. It was awesome.
Gonna do: I can't wait to learn how to surf. And not just on couches. ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am certified to teach English to speakers of other languages. The thing that makes me a good teacher is how much I care about my student and how devoted I am to their improvement.
I constantly tutor the finer points of grammar, writing, and reading comprehension. Hey, all that being nerdy as a child had to pay off somewhere.
I can whistle? haha.
Oh, and for a girl who isn't British, I can bake one hell of a blueberry scone.
