Hi my name is Kelly,

I am a senior at Drake University studying public relations and international relations. I am an aspiring world traveler with a love of hiking and exploring the outdoors. I am very easy going and relaxed. When I travel it is not about partying, but rather taking in the local scenery. You are more likely to find me scoping out a coffee shop than a bar.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I just spent the last six months traveling and living in Colombia. It has inspired me to not only want to visit as many places in the world, but also to show others my city. While I have never couch surfed or host before I am excited to become a part of the community. Last year I had the opportunity to introduce my friend from Spain to my hometown, Minneapolis, MN and it was an incredible experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Reggaeton, Indie, Rap, Country (more Carrie Underwood style than twangy)

Movies: I will watch movies, but honestly I could not tell you my favorite. I get bored they are really long, and I can't talk to anyone when I am watching.

Books: Most non-fiction books, I love biographies and true stories. Growing up I loved Harry Potter and Nancy Drew .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving to Colombia to study abroad when everyone told me not to (One of the best decisions of my life). While I was there I kiked four days to La Ciudad Perdida (the lost city) in Colombia. It was one of the most physically challenging, but rewarding experience of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

Right now I enjoy learning about other places. Not just the hot tourist spots, but what makes the city special for the locals that live there. Not just where people go for a good time, but rather how they live.
