About Me

Hey Everyone! I'm a Peace Corps Volunteer currently serving in Jamaica . I was in Guyana staying in a small jungle community without internet or extra rooms, but now am living near Morant Bay in the St. Thomas Parish of Jamaica. I live in the mountains about 15 miles from the summit of the Blue Mountains (the same Blue Mountains that bring you Blue Mountain Coffee). I love to travel and meet new people. I plan on back packing South America and Southeast Asia after I finish my time in Peace Corps.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined Couchsurfing after a friend asked if a couch surfer could stay with me. It was a lot of fun showing him around my community and getting to know another world traveler. I plan on back packing a good part of the world on a budget. I also think you get the best travel tips from people living in an area.

Interests

I love photography and sports. Especially football (soccer) and volleyball. I work with kids and love teaching. I also enjoy learning about new cultures and trying new things. I also love writing. I have a blog that I update regularly (www.kreevespeace.wordpress.com). And of course there is nothing better than being outdoors and enjoying nature!

Music, Movies, and Books

All music is good music depending on the mood. I love any kind of piano and a lot of folksy alternative stuff. I will watch any movie except scary movies. As far as books I have a mix of classics, trashy crime novels and non-fiction usually focusing on travel or places I've been.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I planned the Guyana Trail Marathon (guyanamarathon.com) to raise money for the school and community I was working with in Guyana, and spent a year and a half living in the jungle of South America.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about the history of Haiti, how to play the piano, Guyanese and Jamaican culture, different aid organizations, locally made crafts, travelling on a budget. I want to learn guitar (though I don't own one right now), I'd love to learn another language, anything about other cultures, anyone's expertise on travel, and anything related to food.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my experiences, and I like to cook so if you trust someone else to cook for you, I will do it! Really anything you're interested in I will find something to contribute or at least enjoy your unique perspective.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Brazil, Cayman Islands, Dominican Republic, Germany, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Mexico, Netherlands, Suriname, United States, Virgin Islands, British
