basically trying to find my place in the world, i feel i have something to offer but lack direction. making a concerted effort to get more tricks & skills under my belt & up my sleeves, feel comfortable & confident to do anything & keep an open mind.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

have crashed on numerous floors, couches and lawns of friends and friends of friends through the years and love the homey experiences i have had in doing so. just starting in on the couchsurfing site and have already met some really interesting new people! looking forward to surfing on all of my future travels and gaining more positive experiences and insights!

Interests

i love the outdoors, especially the forest and the sea. camping, hiking, bike riding, reading (!), vegetarian cooking, produce shopping, drawing, walking, beach combing, finding beauty in the mundane, bargain hunting and being cheap/thrifty in general, repurposing/recycling, people watching, eavesdropping, letting my mind wander, learning new words, playing scrabble. . .

Music, Movies, and Books

i like woody allen, quirky documentaries, catch 22, candy, bad horror movies involving larger than normal and/or massive swarms of animals attacking and anything involving muppets.

just like most other human beings my taste in music is all over the place from van morrison to hilltop hoods to ccs to john prine, alkaline trio, camera obscura, bobby darin, the blow, bob dylan, the delphonics, engelbert humperdinck, mates of state, the monkees, the weakerthans, tom waits, smoking popes, roy orbison, leonard cohen, bone thugs n' harmony, bill withers, shudder to think, paul simon, afroman and anyone that croons.

i read fiction that i can sink my teeth into or that is humorous and compelling. umberto eco, john updike and herman melville, douglas adams, oscar wilde, dave eggers jerzy kozinski, anthony burgess. light neuroscience and cookbooks. anything to expand my world view and inspire new thoughts and connections.

i am a painter by trade. i love to learn new things, i enjoy working with my hands. i'd really like to learn more about growing and cultivating a vegetable garden, scavenging/ survival techniques, construction, and brazilian portuguese.
