ABOUT ME

Weeellll...My name is Kelly, im 19 yrs old, soon to be 20!!.. i spent some time at college and might "continue" at some time... or not :) I grew up in the beautiful Brookings Oregon and love every square inch of it and it's surrounding wildernesses, rivers, beaches, its all good. I love music but who doesnt? painting, writing and all of that typical new age hipster stuff. but hey, its good stuff no? adoremore.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't hosted yet, my place is a little small, but a few couchsurfers have come through town and stayed with friends and all of them so far have been amazing poeple. I would love to meet and greet travelers, show them where to get good coffee (made by ME or my coworkers at MoJoes coffee!!! yeeahboi). As far as me couchsurfing if i ever get my butt in gear, i would love to make my way around the United States, do some woofing abroad, visit Ireland ya know, do my thing in the spirit of adventure!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first learned about couchsurfing when my friends hosted a group of bicyclists from the East Coast. They were amazing! and offered a perfect glimpse of polluted habitats across the states. They were trying to spread awareness for mycellium and its ability to reduce toxins in areas with heavy stuff in the soil and water. They had drawn a beautiful poster demonstrating how it all worked. It was the first time I met true exploring, misty mountain type people and I wanted to go with them!!

Interests

In the summer, i like to hike, swim, sunbathe, make iced tea, listen to music and dance while i sweep house dust off of wood floors, write in beautiul places, draw on myself with sharpies, dance, laugh with friends, talk about boys, sit casually silently in awe of the impossibility of it all, make daisy chains, walk, lye in tall grass, play and run with the pupps, fall asleep beside campfires, sing, joke, listen to fleetwood mac, sizzla, kanaan, pitbull, shakira, the bobster and little feat.When it rains, when the fog sets in, i like to write on covered porches, watch the rain, walk barefoot in said rain and run through mud, drink coffee, drink more coffee, talk with friends by candlelight, do henna parties, read novels, stretch, take baths, watch historical documentaries, hate on proffessional football, turn inward, think about the impossibilities and become solemn, sing slow songs, make scarves, dream and listen to Big Mama Thorton and the White Stripes, Enya? though i dont like to admit it, Amanda Palmer, Radiohead, the Runaways and Led Zepplin.

Music, Movies, and Books

Modest Mouse, Son House, Big Mama Thorton, Habib Kabote, White Stripes, Weezer, Radiohead, The Pixies, Fleetwood Mac, Reese Van Riper, Beyonce, Shakira, Pitbull, Patsy Cline... Basically, anything that its my mood and isnt super artificial. Theres soooo much to keep track of.As far as movies, theres Pride and Preudice, this one french movie thats old about a city run by an emotionless computer, uuumm.. step brothers, sucker punch, nine, memoirs of a geisha, etc.etc.Books are great, most Jane Austen, Anna Karenina, The Pavillion of Women, The Red Tent, The Tulip Tree, The Trail of the Lonesome Pine, The Sword of Truth, Wabi Sabi, Love is Enough 2012 the Return of Quetzalcotl (the parts I could make sense of) Mirror Mirror, Salambo and other stuff..
