In high school I played fast pitch softball. My permanent position was second base but I was also 'unofficially' designated the utility player. I always viewed this as a negative quality - never having the chance to hone my second base skills because I was constantly shuffled around like a pinball to various positions due to teammate injuries, absences or sickness…

Many reflective years later, I've embraced this as a blessing. A wonderful, positive quality for a traveler-vagabonder-wanderer like myself… I might not be an expert at anything (except maybe interior design:) but I'm certainly good enough at lots of little things -and when you're constantly traveling, meeting new people and adapting to new cultures, you don't need to be an expert at anything, you just need to have an open mind - to people, to learning and to doing your ABSOLUTE BEST everyday….

Что привело меня на Couchsurfing

Other than surfing on friends couches over the summer of 2003 while I was homeless (ok, between apartments) I haven't couchsurfed since then. I typically stay in low budget hotels, hostels and airbnb places when I travel but recently stumbled upon this incredible community through a google search. Right now I'm in the midst of planning an extended vagabonding trip for 2015 and if I want to have the means to stretch my travel days and dollars, I will have to rely on the kindness of strangers and would love (before my travels have even begun) to start paying that gratitude forward by opening my doors to likeminded travels as well... Mi casa es tu casa!

I enjoy digging into books and sometimes even climbing over cliff notes. I inhale green smoothies on an -absolute- daily basis and exhale on outdoor runs on an -almost- daily basis. I'm a cooking fiend and a lovingkindness-meditation-yoga-zen follower. I'm a serial entrepreneur and seriously laugh way too much. Apparently my doppelganger is Cameron Diaz. I will take that as the ultimate compliment. I'm also a Taurus. A trusted friend and tenaciously loyal till the end. I sometimes crew on a racing sailboat and maybe one day I will sail off on my own and never look back…

Books?! Where do I start... my favorite author of all time is Gabriel Garcia Marquez (Love in The Time of Cholera, One Hundred Years of Solitude). His writing is poetry and the mystical realism is magical.

If you are road-tripping across the US (or not!:) I HIGHLY suggest Blue Highways by William Least Heat-Moon. His 3 month journey across the blue highways of America is inspiring, especially from a historical perspective. I recently read this and it made me want to hop in my car and just take off. haha
