About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I am a graduate school student for MA for the time being, I major in Chinese literature, and I am also a Chinese teacher.

ABOUT ME

Hi everyone, my name is Kelly, I'm from Taiwan whose official name is Republic of China and it has nothing to do with People's Republic of China, they are totally different countries, because many people confused about their difference, and think they are the same, therefore I think I should explain it in the beginning.

I am a Buddhist, a lesbian, a feminist, a teacher, a student, a woman, a book worm, a tea addict, a traveler, a real introvert although I can behave as an extrovert, an explorer of this world, all of those identities are about me.

About my personality, I think that I'm an open-minded,friendly, respective, talkative, quiet, sincere, active, curious and easygoing girl, in addition, I am also a feminist who always pursuing the equality and human rights. I like talking (not small talk), because of conversation with people that I can see this world and see myself, either. I have bachelor degree on Chinese literature, and I also can speak a little bit Spanish. Because of foreign languages, I can meet new friends from other countries, and I like travelling as well. By the way, I'm very interested in Europe, such as its cultures and its architectures. Of course, if you are also interested in my country, Taiwan, and want to hang out or just have a drink with me in Taipei, I would love to receive messages from you.
This is my country, Republic of China whose nickname is Taiwan:

PHILOSOPHY

1. I wish I can do something which I want to do, even if I'm not really good at, I think that is the happiest and the idealistic lifestyle which I always dream of.

2. Love is love, and it has nothing to do with gender, every sexual orientation should be respected because we are born for love, not for propagation.

3. Love is something we should learn, no matter how old we are, because we always think that we love someone, therefore we treat or interfere them by some horrible or terrible ways which are just based on religions or ignorant prejudices.

4. Everyone is all like a stranger for me, no matter how long we have known each other because people is changing every single day and they even do not aware that they have become a stranger for themselves of every single yesterday.

5. Being a feminist, I am always pursuing the equality between men and women that is a basic human right which everyone, no matter men or women or other gender, should go after.

6. To get rid of all the limits from gender or any kind of stereotype which is based on gender, and just being yourself, everyone is lovely and amazing if they do themselves!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to hang out with people who come from different countries, if you are interested in night markets, cycling, having a drink or coffee, visiting old streets, experiencing culture of Taiwanese temple or going to museums.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I used Couchsurfing during my trip in Europe, such as Madrid, Barcelona, Porto, Lisbon, Avinon and Paris. I met a lot of kind, nice and amazing people, some of them were my hosts and some of them are local people whom I met via Couchsurfing for hanging out together.
I really enjoy those experiences and very appreciate those people (my hosts and those local people), because of them, I can see and know different world, culture and attitude from their lifestyles, and those things even make me review myself and what I really want, what lifestyle I really must pursue and what kind of the person who I want to be in the future. I got more power and courage after I finished every conversation with them; for me, this is a very ideal Couchsurfing experience, and how lucky I am!

Interests

I like ballet, art, literature, writing, Chinese calligraphy, photography, movies, Jazz, riding bike and having a drink. If you also have any interest which is the same as mine, I think that we will have wonderful time, however if we don't have any interest in common, I believe I can learn something from you, I can experience different things which I've never had or thought of. By the way, I also like cooking, I'd like to teach you some basic Taiwanese / Chinese dishes which are easy to learn if I surf to your home. By the way, if you come to my country and you are also interested in typical Taiwanese cuisines, we can go for it together (more people more fun), I love it so much!

I major in Chinese Literature, if you also interested in Chinese literature, or want to experience Chinese culture, I also like to share them with you. Of course, if you want a Chinese name, I would love to give you one which is base on your name and explain the meaning for you. (Haha... but I don't know if it sounds interesting and attractive for you.)
