ABOUT ME

I'm an adventurous vegetarian currently studying abroad in Córdoba, Spain. This is my first time in Europe, and I'm so excited to see everything, meet new people, and photograph it all! I'm interested in doing more than just seeing the famous sights.
I love to sing, dance, eat, make art, and run around barefoot, especially if mud is involved. I laugh a lot and am highly optimistic - it takes a lot to get me down.
Whenever my program takes our group on a guided tour, I'm always the very last one, running to catch up because I got caught up in looking at/photographing things.

Once I have a non-dorm or -homestay living situation, I definitely plan to host couchsurfers!

Interests

Cats, rabbits, and other furry things.
Walking leisurely around with no destination.
Good food, good tea, good drinks of all sorts.
Hiking. Biking. Taking off my shoes and traversing muddy riverbanks or sandy beaches. Swimming, naked if it feels right. Mountains. Watching fish swim, birds fly, and other animals do what they do.
Sketching/painting.
Music, both listening and making (singing, ukulele, piano)
-- I've spent a lot of time at folk festivals and love harmonizing and learning new tunes, and would like to discover the local music scenes of the places I visit.
Photography: while my favorite subject is usually people, since I've been in Spain I've been figuring out how to capture architecture, plant life, and other non-human entities.
Film! Movies! Talking about movies!
Cocktails! I've invented a few, and I'd like to learn how to mix professionally. Also, good beers.

I love movies. I love them so much. A few directors that pop into my head: Wes Anderson, Pedro Almodóvar, Quentin Tarantino, Edgar Wright, Frank Capra, Ernst Lubitsch, Hayao Miyazaki. &c.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Drove with one of my very closest friends/soulmates from upstate New York to Utah and back (i.e. a very long way), picking out different offbeat roads to travel every day, seeing funky cities and towns and stunning natural landscapes, and spending the nights in campsites and on the couches of friends. I would do it again in an instant.
