ABOUT ME

I am currently an AmeriCorps NCCC member serving in the Pacific Region. I will be graduating the program July 23, 2013 in Sacramento, California and will be moving back home to Asheville, North Carolina. I graduated May 2012 from Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC with a B.A. of Science, in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I studied at University of North Carolina at Greensboro my first two years of college, and while at WCU I studied abroad in Ireland at the Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. I am an Alpha Chi Omega, Zeta-Omega Alumni and love getting to meet new sisters wherever I go! I am looking to find a new job when I go back to NC at the end of July for about a year, and then go to grad school next fall for Speech Pathology.

PHILOSOPHY

I believe in people. I don't believe in compartmentalizing the individual. I find beauty in the vast, well-rounded natures that compose us.

I am all about good cover songs, and mash-ups. I love anything from Bon Iver to 2-chainz. Anything that I can feel, and move to. Discovering new artists is one of my favorite past times.

The most recent would be parasailing over Lake Tahoe in May! I am terrified of heights, but my friends encouraged me to give it a try, and I had an absolute blast!

I have started to discover this philosophy this past year after I graduated college. As I learn what I am passionate about, I become less worried about just jumping in, getting my hands dirty, and seeing what is on the other side. Tomorrow is too late to "think" about trying something. Don't let the moment's slide by; create the moment.
