About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Create and share knowledge of the world through meeting cool people Find my purpose in being. Learn Spanish. :)
ABOUT ME
I've had a love affair with with Spanish since I had my first class in the 5th grade. I just returned from two years of living, working, and playing in Madrid, Spain. Not sure how I feel about being back in the USA yet...more on that later I guess.
I studied abroad in the UK and backpacked around Europa for a couple months (yep I'm a walking cliche)I miss it dearly.
I NEED people, strangers, crowds, music, talk, and laughter to feel and stay alive.
I hate math, humidity, ignorance, whiskey, reading maps, wHen PEopLe tYpe LIkE ThIs.
I love making people laugh and have a deep appreciation for a well told story.
I value my friends immensely.
-----and I make new ones quickly.
I'm loud
----but I listen with care and attention.
I'm always honest
---so don't ask an opinion if you don't want the truth.
I don't know WHAT I want to be
--but I know WHO I want to be & that is more important.
El fin.
PHILOSOPHY
In the wise words of Alexander Supertramp...
"Happiness only real when shared."
I think that every single person you meet has the power to teach you something, no matter how small or fleeting the connection or wisdom imparted, there is something to be learned from others who have not lived your life. This is what makes me love people. No, not all of them. But the potential--that is what I cherish and cultivate.
My biggest fear in life is to have lived it with a missed opportunity, and I try everyday to see who I can meet, what I can see, where I can go and what I can do to live my life to the fullest.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host and surf whenever possible and try to spread CS awareness :) I frequently spent many many minutes in vain explaining to people that no it's not that dangerous, yes its free, yes its possible yet unlikely that CSers could be psycho ax murderers, but so could the dentist.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
CouchSurfing is an amazing way to make traveling not only less expensive but to meet fantastic people across the world! It's like having friends in every city you go to.
Check out my sweet hosting skills!! Haha.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music makes the world go 'round. I do discriminate in my selections; I am not an omnivore of music (though not a vegan either) I dislike rap, country, and hardcore scream rock. ICP is my idea of the worst possible music ever. Atmosphere is the one exception, though they aren't really rap. Everything else is fair game, 'specially jazz, British Indie Rock and everything in between.
Books-
Well that could go on forever. I'm always reading something, to expand my mind, learn about things outside my own experiences, chill out with a smutty "beach read", or suffer through the 1,000 page classics just because they are classics, and I feel obligated have experienced them.
Movies-
If it makes me laugh I'm down for it. I don't like violence, I'm too empathetic.
Top Movie List-In No Specific Order
1. Princes Bride
2. Hook
3. Good Will Hunting
4. Dead Poets Society
5. V for Vendetta
6. Harry Potter
7. The Namesake
8. Atonement
9. The Breakfast Club
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I saw an Otter battle a Monkey at the San Diego Zoo. It was epic.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could teach you how to knit, strap on a snowboard, make a perfect cup of English tea, whistle both inwards and outwards, whip up an excellent red pepper hummus, braid hair, lots of useless trivia facts- and I mean LOTS. I'm fairly well read, which also translates into fairly useless- unless I'm watching Jeopardy :)
I would love to learn:
How to shoot pool, play a string instrument, Spanish, the secret to leading a fulfilling life...ya know, just the basics.
