Overview
About Me
I am a fun, energetic person hoping to to experience all the world has to offer. The most important thing to me is to never have regrets. When I am old and wrinkled I want to be able to look back on my life and say that I did and experienced everything I ever wanted to. I never want to look back and be sorry I didn't take a chance or an opportunity. I do my best to live in the moment and live without fear of the unknown. I grew up in a small farming community in the Midwestern U.S. There is very little diversity and very little going on in general. My hope is to one day move out of this area for good!
But currently I am a graduate student at a local university working toward my master's degree in social work. I will graduate in December of 2016. In the mean time I hope to do as much traveling as possible. Some would say I have a strong personality, because I am generally outgoing and always passionate about everything I do. One thing about me is that I will never do something halfheartedly. When I set my mind to something I put every ounce of my energy toward accomplishing it. I am a firm believer that it is not titles, degrees, or possessions that are most important, rather it is our experiences and the connections we make with others throughout our lives that have the most value.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There is too much world out there not to experience every bit of it I can. Although I am not a seasoned traveler yet, I know that when I do travel there is a certain way I like to do it. I do not like to be seen as a "tourist" who stays at the most popular hotels and takes the guided tours. I don't feel that that is the best way to experience a new place. I believe it is by immersing yourself in the culture completely. I hope to meet people on couchsurfing that can help me do that in my travels as well as be able to do that for other travelers as well.
