About Me

Update: due to recent events I will be unable to host surfers.

Hi, Kelsey here. I'm Canadian. I like meeting new people and travelling to new places. Currently I'm living and working in Beijing as an English teacher to little babies.... er children.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe CS is the best way to meet new people and learn about their culture. For hosts it gives them a chance to meet people from countries they may never even thought of visiting , and to hear about other peoples travels. For surfers, its a great way to learn about the city/country you are visiting, and save some money too.

Interests

There are some things I'm interested in but have yet to pick up / try out. Yoga, Violin (have the violin in storage but haven't had a lesson), kendo or similar swordsmanship.

I've dabbled in the art of arial hoops. and it is so much fun, but req a lot of upper body strength. When I have a studio near me again I would love to continue.

I'm a terrible cook. Wish I was a better baker, but I never seem to have the time, or ingredients.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: pretty much anything. preference towards various types of rock. and the comedic works of the Arrogant Worms (they're Canadian!)

My favourite author is Sophie Kinsella, she writes the Shopaholic series and various stand alone books. Mostly Rom-Com.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I convinced my father and (one of my) sisters to go zip lining when our cruise was docked in Belize. I'm afraid of heights! but believe me when I say that all goes away once you step off the edge. There is no going back , you're suspended in the middle of the forest rushing thru the trees. Its exhilarating and a definite must if you ever get the chance! DO it!
update- I went to Thailand and got to Zipline again. Still fun :)

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn all about you, and your culture and city! Language! Help me and I will help you with english (if you need). We can swap stories and tips of traveling. Maybe we can inspire each other for our next trip.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good time. A little bit of Canada. I can also bring Canadian snacks or trinkets for you.
