Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a classical musician, and listen to mostly classical music but I also enjoy folk music from around the world, classic rock, anternative, country, bluegrass, punk, and occasionally techno and EDM. My favorite movies are Das Himmel Über Berlin, Inside Out, Bill and Ted's Excellent Advanture, and Serenity.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Lived in a dojo for two years. Best two years of my life! Living in a dojo is not an experience most people have the option to experience. I was basically an apprentice to the owner of an Aikido dojo. While I lived there I was responsible for maintaining and cleaning the building, making newcomers feel welcomed, and I also had a chance to train more than your average student does -- I would spend a good 20 hours a week on the mat (sometimes more!) training in Aikido, and also a little bit of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, and Muay Thai. The training (mental and physical) I did while I lived there helped me to become a much more confident person, and I loved being able to host visitors from around the world either just for training or for a few nights in the dojo. I will always remember this time as one of the most important and amazing things I've ever been able to do.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook. I'd like to make you dinner! I can also teach you to make origami flowers and cranes.
