ABOUT ME

Wow, where to begin. I'm a knitting, coffee drinking, language learning, people loving college student from the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I just spent a semester in Siena, Italy and I loved every minute of it. I love nature stuff like hiking, biking, camping, and all that jazz. I'm also very into arts and crafts. I pretty much always have some kind of knitting project in my purse and I also crochet, sew, and scrapbook. These past few months I've found myself loving photography as well.

I come from your typical suburban family in Oregon. When I'm not living at school I live at home with my parents, two sisters, and two West Highland terriers.

I am a psychology major and I'm interested in studying public health in grad school.

I've become very talented at packing my entire life into one small backpack.

I want to see the world while I'm young, before I have any more obligations.

I love coffee and tea. I firmly believe that a hot beverage can fix most anything.

I don't own any plain white socks.

Last Halloween I was an 80s aerobics instructor.

I am outgoing and love meeting new people.

I think that traveling is important to better understand the world and yourself.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am new to this whole couch surfing business but right now I'm planning meeting new people, contributing by writing reviews and giving feedback, and opening up my couch when I return home to Portland.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet but I have a ton of friends who have had really good experiences with couch surfing and I'm excited to participate!

Music - I'm mostly into alternative rock. I really like the Decemberists, the Format, Cold War Kids.... I also really like classic rock.

Books - The Great Gatsby, Pride and Prejudice, The English Patient

Movies - I'm a sucker for romantic comedies. But at the moment my favorite movie is Pride and Prejudice, probably because I love the book so much.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

One time I was in Mexico with a group of students and we were building a house for a family. We spent all week working hard to create this home for them and at the end of the week when we gave them the keys their faces lit up and we could all tell that their lives were forever changed. Their gratitude was such an amazing gift.

1) Challenge yourself! I've always heard that "if it's completely comfortable you're not learning" and it's true. Jump outside of your comfort zone and try something new. Then go share that experience with others.
