ABOUT ME

Currently I am a graduate student in the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse Student Affairs Administration program. I recently moved to Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

I spent the past four years at Northern Michigan University, a school nestled in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. I absolutely loved living in Marquette because there was always someplace to explore and adventure. Whether it was hiking in the nearby woods or swimming in Lake Superior.

I recently returned from studying abroad in Brussels, Belgium at Vesalius College, which is next to the Vrije Universiteit Brussel. I lived in Ixelles (Elsene) neighborhood (commune) with an amazing host family and had many experiences that I would not trade for anything.

I grew up in Warren, Michigan, USA a suburb of Detroit Michigan. (You know, the one known for 8 mile, Eminem, Hockey etc.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I joined couchsurfing a two years ago when I was planning short trips to Toronto and on the off chance that someone would be passing through my small town of Marquette, Michigan.

Then, I choose to use Couchsurfing as an inexpensive way to see as much as I could during my study abroad in Europe and meet as many cool and interesting people as possible!

Now, I use it as a combination of the two as I plan my next adventure.

Interests

I love to hike and explore. I love the outdoors, kayaking, canoeing and I wish I was better at mountain biking, rock climbing etc. but I really don't have the coordination.

Language and culture interests me; I believe that locals always have the best kept secrets and are the only ones who can give you a true feeling of the place you are visiting.

I would like to continue a career in a university setting pursuing Student Affairs in Higher Education.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music I love includes (in no particular order) Coeur de Pirate, Two Door Cinema Club, the Wonder Years, Hoodie Allen, Head and the Heart, The Kooks, Blink 182, Passion Pit, Bastille, City and Colour, Hey Rosetta!, Coldplay, Bryce Vine, Lewis Watson and so many more. I love good jams.

I love movies where you have no idea what is going on until the very end and then you're still left wondering. My movie repertoire needs some work but some favorites are Inception, 500 Days of Summer, Breakfast at Tiffanys.

I'm sad to admit that I am not as well read as I would like to be. But I love mystery novels!
