Overview
About Me
I'm very easy to get along with and very inquisitive and open-minded. I'm from Seattle, Washington but now I live in Austin, Texas. I am a bartender and co-manager at a little neighborhood craft cocktail bar where I really value the conversations I have there and getting creative with drinks. I also love art and have worked in museums and galleries. I write a little poetry too.
I am going to Amsterdam to participate in an educational program through the United States Bartenders Guild. After the program ends I will be staying in the Amsterdam area on my own for four nights.
And, as an American traveling internationally in 2019, I want to clarify that I 100% DO NOT support the current U.S. president, it's all very embarrassing and distressing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to couchsurf because I value being able to interact and stay with someone who is a local. One of the best parts of traveling is cultural exchange. I am also of course traveling on a budget.
I live in a tiny one-room apartment so unfortunately I can't host couchsurfers myself yet. Someday!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had great experiences couchsurfing in Berlin. Also I used "hangouts" to meet up with a few people while I was there.
Interests
I love art and museums and want to learn forever. I'm energized by being in nature and like going on little hikes whenever I have time. Here in Austin, Texas we have lots of rivers and cacti and short trees but I miss the tall Evergreens of the Seattle area and the big expanses of water.
Of course I love traveling. I taught English in rural Thailand for two months, and have spent time in Berlin, Greece, Guatemala, Spain and Paris. I've been to Amsterdam once before for a couple of days and am so looking forward to returning and going back to the Stedelijk! One of my favorite pieces of art is there - "The Beanery" by Ed Keinholtz.
