About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Somehow obtain a career that combines engineering and theatre
ABOUT ME
Despite living my whole life on the one property, I have always seemed to find myself anywhere else but at home. The past few years have seen me living in Melbourne in my uni breaks at either my best friend's house or my boyfriend's apartment, in some sort of a theatre, or within the barriers of the engineering blocks at uni! When I can I love going to the beach. Newcastle has a huge beach culture so I grew up with 10 minutes between me and the waves.
PHILOSOPHY
I live my life with dark beer; as a cheap alternative Toohey's old, and as a more elaborate option red duck. It all depends on what is in my pocket at the time.
Cats. Engineering.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Interested initially in hosting to get a feel for the system, then hopefully later this year begin to surf with my boyfriend when we go to Europe!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have hosted a bunch of lovely people when I lived in Melbourne. Was fantastic to make new friends and am very excited to see a few of them when I get to Europe.
Interests
Well what I like to do varies quite a bit... I've always loved going to see plays, musicals, jazz nights and orchestras. I tried to learn the violin from the age of 5 to 16 but couldn't keep up the practice so have since resorted to being an audience member. I've been heavily involved in local theatre since I was about 8, performing and doing backstage for countless musicals, pantomines and plays. Recently I have moved on to directing and the creative side of things, directing the golden masque of agememnon in 2010, Peter Pan and was AD for Getting On last year, directed Babe the Sheep Pig earlier this year and am soon directing I am A Camera later on next year. I'm a sucker for math amd science.. this contrast made it hard when deciding what I wated to do at uni.. but I figured engineering was some sort of compromise between interests.I used to do a lot of student rep and speaking/ debating at various things around which was fun. It was good to meet interesting folks at these events. I haven't done as much of this sort of stuff since hitting uni though but still do it when I can.I enjoy nice food, normally cooked by either my family or my boyfriend or his family.. occassionally by me, but I am still learning!

Music, Movies, and Books
Reading wise, the terms are reserved for textbooks/ work and the holidays are for everything but! I read a lot of acting/ drama books and poetry for work and I enjoy this quite a lot. The textbooks can get a little drab, but it is cool once the concepts make sense. Normally I have a reading pile up to the roof and only manage to get that complete during holidays. I normally read anything people I can trust have recommended, so the topics range a lot.My younger sister and I have for years stayed up later watching the weird and wonderful films sbs has to showcase.. this is one thing I quite enjoy. I love claymation and the classics and quite a variety of stuff. My sister has a big range of 30's- 50's films so I have watched most of them and I have watched most of the things on my boyfriend's profile. My music taste varies day to day but I don't like much pop or rnb or anything that you hear on mainstream radio!
