About Me
CURRENT MISSION
My mission, as I've chosen to accept it, is to embrace each moment, to get lost and enjoy it, to find things right in front of me and to learn all that I can. I try always to jump into this world with an open mind.
ABOUT ME
I'm a happy person that's always trying to strike up new friendships and enjoy new experiences. I'll try anything - legal ;) - once and I love both spontaneity and having a plan. I like learning about other cultures and interacting with different people. My friends tell me that I'm kind and funny, outgoing and smart, terrible with directions but never really lost.
PHILOSOPHY
I try to live in the now. I work hard for, and embrace, what I have. I like to earn what I want and, yet, I don't want that much because I feel like any time and place can be enjoyed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm currently living with a friend so I can't host but, I like surfing so hopefully that will change once I'm in my own place. I love to travel and see the real-life world of different places - couch surfing is my favorite way to do that.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've surfed in Dublin, Florence, Sorrento, London, Manchester (UK), and Pittsburgh. All of which have been great experiences and I hope to keep going with it.
Interests
I'm very into trying new foods and seeing new things. I love the Classical world and I could read all day just as easily as I could spend a day hiking through the woods without a glance of the modern world. I'm a recent college graduate, but I can't seem to stop wanting to learn. I spend my time with friends and making new ones, I like exploring, going to new places, trying to learn other languages and about other cultures, and finding new music/movies/places/things/foods.

Music, Movies, and Books
This is a hard one for me because I enjoy so many different types of music, movies, and books. I'm a big reader - I have a room dedicated to my books at home - and I love being introduced to new ones by friends and strangers alike. I'll listen to any kind of music from Alternative rock, to Swedish techno, to Vivaldi- I don't like everything, but I'll try anything. One of my hobbies is finding interesting films to watch. Whether they're famous like The Avengers, cult films like Boondock Saints, indie like Pulp Fiction, or older like Bringing Up Baby, I'm willing to give it a go.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The first thing I've done that I feel really threw caution to the wind and let me embrace the moment itself was when I went skydiving. Yes, it was nerve-wrecking, hanging out of the plan,e waiting to launch myself into nothingness; but, the peace of falling was incredible and all the tricks on the way down made me really understand how important the Now is and that I can live an in-the-moment kind of life.
Eating dinner next to the Colosseum is either a tie with that or a close second.
Teach, Learn, Share
I think I'll start with things I'd like to learn because learning is a hobby for me. I want to learn about the cultures of the people I meet, their languages, how they stand when talking to people, how they greet and depart. I can try to teach people about my culture and do my best to help them with their English (only if they want it). I'd love to learn to play piano or guitar. I can cook well; so, if someone can't or isn't sure what to make with very little ingredients, that's a knowledge I am happy to pass on. If there's something I want to learn that it seems a host or surfer might know I'll ask, and don't be afraid to do the same if you think there's something I could share that I haven't thought of.
