About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Adventure, travel and see as much of world as my ultra limited budget allows :D

ABOUT ME

Well my names Paul Turko - currently 22 years old and just returned from traveling! My head is still massively in the Clouds! :) But starting, with great difficulty, to try and settle into "normal" life. The people I met along my journeys, shaped and changed my life. To have been fortunate enough to meet so many incredible people, I feel that I must be blessed. There are soo many good people in the world and I saw this day in and day out. It helped make me a better person, and for that I am truely grateful. About me? Well I'm enthusiastic and happy, or so people keep telling me, and im really passionate and friendly. (but I always find it difficult to write stuff about my self, no matter what you say it always appears to take away from modesty, so ill just stop :)) I just wanna have a good time and enjoy every second :)

PHILOSOPHY

Be good to people, be happy, be positive, have fun, and dont worry about things. Just be nice and good and good things will happen :D

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well I have couchsurfed all through my journeys! Shared the tales of each traveller and that of my own. Tried to make people see that there are so many good people in the world. That most will help you with everything they have, and that this thinking can open so many doors in your life.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well Myself and a friend just Hitchhiked across Europe, into the Ukraine, and travelled to Russia! We took the Transiberian Express to Mongolia! :) Seperated due to unfortunate circumstances! He travelled through China and I Hitchhiked through Japan for 6 weeks, and through South Korea. We then met up and Hitchhiked up and down Malaysia, and all through the South of Thailand, then back down to the South in Singapore! In total before running out of cash and having to do an Emergency flight home through Kuwait we travelled for 6 and half months. Mostly pure Hitchhiking! It was simply incredible. On this journey we stayed with some of the most amazing people you could have ever wished to meet, and now proudly call friends. But the couch surfers, especially changed our lives on this journey! Offering hospitality without limits, and kindness that could make you change the way you look at life. People that could take 2 strangers into their homes, especially sometimes when they smelt as bad as me and Spence. This website an the ideas of such, are completely simple. But allow some of the most incredible people in the world the chance to share the fact they are something special. Couchsurfing has been an incredible part of my journey, and I thank each everyone that has helped me. This site is simply amazing :)

Well on my travels to the states - I decided that for 3 months I would only need £500. foolishly I spent this on beer within the first 12 minutes. So I stayed with so many, fantastically amazing people, from LA to Edmondton (canada). Bumming around the country, sleeping on floors in backbed rooms, having my own deluxe camper van and sleeping on the beach. The people I stayed with were amazing, lots of friends all over the place were made. So when I heard about this site, its perfect for my personality. :D

Kinda rocky music, but I like everything, I like foo fighters, bush and stuff like that, but what ever takes my fancy, i dont like grouping myself.
well movies, i have loads, I used to work in a video shop so I got free rentals all the time. which was cool :) donnie darko, fightclub and gladiator, just to name the standard 3 - books - im just reading are you dave gorman? which seems cool, plus I like chuck palanhiuk's books, bit weird but cool.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hitchhiking.

Like couchsurfing, offers the opportunity, to meet, talk and share with some of the most special people on the planet. Regardless of colour, religion or background. Some human beings are something beyond special. To realise this, so young, is something I am so grateful for.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well I did Neuroscience at uni so I'm apparently qualified in that field, but on the other hand I was pretty drunk for most of the time. So its a shakey 2:1 :). I guess because I speak English I could teach it a bit. and as much as I don't wanna sound geeky I do like science in general, I think its interesting. So I could help teach general science nonsense :D
