Music, Movies, and Books

I love playing and listening to jazz. Gypsy Jazz, Bebop, Hard Bop, and Swing are what I listen to the most but I usually enjoy any type of music related to jazz. I mainly play double bass, guitar, and accordion, but just for the sake of playing, my technique not being anywhere near to what I would like it to be.
I am also open to other styles of music, and I enjoy discovering new songs/bands.
When it comes to cinema, I enjoy watching biopics, historical movies, action and adventure movies and classics.
I like literature a lot. I enjoy Victorian writers such as Thomas Hardy, George Eliot, and Charles Dickens. Other favorite authors of mine include Ernest Hemingway, John Steinbeck, Scott Fitzgerald, Henry James, and Joseph Conrad. Having lived in South Africa a while, I'm also into South African literature: Alan Paton, Herman Charles Bosman, Olive Schreiner, and Nadine Gordimer are some authors I've enjoyed reading.
Philosophy is a topic I'm curious about. I haven't read much, but a few philosophers that I appreciate are Dostoevsky, Sartre and Camus.

Music is something I would always be willing to share and teach (at a pretty basic level).
I can also help with learning to speak French, or English.
I can share what I've learned about biology and other sciences.
I would love to discuss the books I've read and literature.
