About Me
Hi! My name is Sheng-chi Chen. You can call me "Ken". I come from Tainan, southern Taiwan. From 2018~2019 academic year, I am the Fulbrighter who teach Mandarin and Linguistics in Pacific Lutheran University (PLU) in Tacoma, Washington State. I got selected to be here by U.S. Department of State so you don't have to worry about if I am a creepy people lol
I am a public elementary school English teacher in Taiwan. I love to meet people, so I hope I could do couch surfing when I go back to my country. I am planning to travel in us when I have free time, I hope these experiences might enrich my English teaching and benefit my students after I go back to Taiwan. I'm neat and clean, and always up to hang out with any free time I have.
We can share art, cultures, languages, music ..........together.
I hope to have a great time Couchsurfing with you in Houston!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
A few words to describe my personality would be open-minded, devoted, encouraging, and collaborative. In my life, I maintain constant awareness of global issues and I truly enjoy making friends from different parts of the world expand my knowledge on their culture and upbringing. I also seize every moment to introduce Taiwan culture to my friends and hopefully promote intercultural understanding. With a philosophy similar to this quote from the movie Forrest Gump, “Life's but a box of chocolate. You will never know what you’re going to have,” I firmly believe that by connecting with various people from different backgrounds, life would be more splendid and colorful, just like a box of chocolate filling my memory with unexpected tastes.
