About Me

I'm an introvert at heart - when I am alone I feel the most comfortable and recharged. With that said, I do love connecting with new people and old friends, pushing myself beyond my comfort zone and learning new things!

I grew up in Vancouver, Canada and current live in the same city. After high school in Vancouver I completed my Bachelors of Arts (with a major in Philosphy and International Development Studies) at Dalhousie University in Halifax. In my Bachelors I studied abroad in Thailand with a focus on Indigenous studies (lots of great stories from this year!).

Once Graduated I worked at Mountain Equipment Co-op (a Large Canadian outdoor recreation equipment retail store) for several years. Through my work there I studies Cabinetry (fine wood working) and soon after started a business with my brother building furniture and custom woodwork. This business has been operating for 3 years. However, with my insatiable desire for knowledge and skills acquisition I intend to apply for my Masters of Fine Art for 2016.

I get inspired really easily and love to make art as well as experience other peoples' creative pursuits. I am a musician (piano, guitar, ukulele, singer) and film photographer (landscapes, portrait, street).

I am a very clean and considerate person. I like my spaces clean and respect that many other people expect the same cleanliness.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The Couchsurfing philosophy is really appealing to me. The trust and warmth of people around the world gives me hope for humanity.

I am technically new to couchsurfing as a member, though I have lived in a house that has actively hosted couchsurfers.

As a Couchsurfer I hope to made new friends and experience new places through a locals lens. As a host I intend to provide a safe and comfortable space for surfers as well as build friendships with internationally diverse travelers.

Interests

I love the moment when I forget where I am and what I'm doing. This happens to me when I'm...
- immersed in a creative project (making music, shooting photographs, putting on an exhibit etc),
- pushing myself physically (rock climbing, running, mountaineering etc),
- playing (surfing, skateboarding, skiing, soccer, canoeing - like a true great Canadian should - etc.)

Skied down an unskied Norwegian Couloir filled with perfect powder snow right to the edge of a gorgeous Fjord. Absolutely surreal experience!
