ABOUT ME
I was born in California, raised in Seattle, went to college in Texas, and moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina in June of 2005 with Omid, my fiance. I'm trying to get a job, or find a career, but not really trying too hard. I want to travel more, and the thought of getting stuck in the grind terrifies me. I'm extremely outgoing and open-minded, and try to grow and learn with every new experience.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe that in every situation, every encounter, no matter how brief or small, you leave a little bit of yourself behind and pick up a part of someone or something else, until you are no longer all you, but a patchwork of other people, places, and things.
Por qué estoy en Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have a wonderfully comfortable couch and am willing to show someone around and give advice. I am literally a fountain of knowledge, useful or otherwise.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Met some really good friends, had a bunch of laughs, terrified these two french guys (you'll have to ask).
Intereses
I taught myself to cook, and am pretty darn good at it. I'm a wine connoisseur and a beer snob (Washington and Oregon really do have the best microbrews). I have an obsession with animals and they know this and take advantage of it, but it's okay. I don't currently have any though, I travel too much, so I have plants, which sometimes get more attention than Omid.

Música, películas y libros
I'll read just about anything and detest most television. The Life Aquatic is my favorite movie.
Algo increíble que he hecho
While in Puerto Deseado (sooooouuth of Argentina) we were on this Island of Penguins (so I named it) and I had walked off by myself. I was standing very still, just watching, and there were about 40,000 of them. (they aren't the big ones, they're only about a foot and a half tall). I hear a quiet crunching noise from behind me, and when I slowly rotate my upper body to look, there's a penguin couple moving cautiously toward me. I don't move. I don't speak. I don't breathe. I don't want to do anything to scare them away. They inch toward me, streaching out their little necks to get a better look at me. After what felt like forever, they're about a foot and a half from me, and they stop. They relax. They start pruning themselves and each other, not even noticing me anymore. My smile was so big I thought it would get stuck like that. They stayed there for about five minutes, then got bored and continued their walk, toward to water. I could've cried, I was so estatic. Lucky for me my fiance noticed while they were approaching me, and began taking pictures as he walked toward me. It was the most incredible moment of my entire life.
Enseña, aprende, comparte
I practice a form of acrobatics called Danza Aerea (air dancing, literally) where you climb these ropes made of spandex, tie yourself up in cool formations, and tumble down while it catches you (because you made a knot). It's complicated to explain, but it's soooo much fun. I'm willing to teach anyone, but it does take a few sessions to even build the strength to climb. I liken it to Cirque du Soleil, but I'm not NEARLY that good. yet.
I speak excellent Castellano (cas-tey-sha-no) which is a form of spanish spoken in Buenos Aires. I can help anyone out or hook you up with a few good teachers.
I can't tango but if you come to BA you must do it. I know many, many, many places to learn for free or for very little.
I want to strengthen my Portuguese (Brazilian) and learn Italian. My goal is 5 languages.
