About Me
Hey y'all!
I am from Arkansas in the US. I finished my degree in December 2018, left behind a job in college athletics, and decided to move abroad to China to get teaching experience. I've always enjoyed working with kids and plan to continue to do so in the non-profit sector when i move back to the USA.
I'm 25 and pretty down to earth. I enjoy concerts, hiking, reading, museums, food and drinks, canoeing, swimming, DIY projects, and always trying to find my newest hobby. When travelling I usually have a general idea of what I want to do in the area so I won't be totally dependent on you to show me around/give me ideas but suggestions are always welcome if you know some cool local spots.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've had a lot of friends use couchsurfing and I am finally joining the group! I've primarily relied on friends in cities or Airbnb for accommodation but that isn't always reliable/affordable. I love the concept of opening your home to fellow travelers and providing them a safe place to stay while meeting new people and potentially building lifelong connections. It's always cool to see how people are going to fit into your story and the impacts the smallest gestures can have. I have casually hosted people in my apartment in China and was a host on Airbnb back home usually for football fans coming in for the game weekends. I'm starting out as a guest and hope to eventually be able to offer the spare room of my apartment in Shenzhen, China when the current short-term tenant moves out.
