ABOUT ME

Hello! We are a friendly, adventurous, and fun-seeking Canadian couple who have been traveling now for 20 months. We both love nature and the outdoors; camping, hiking/trekking, waterfalls, trees, lakes, you name it - the world is such a beautiful place and we can’t wait to experience as much of it as we can! Apart from that, Kendall is really into music - anything by Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Wilco, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, (we could go on forever here…) will grab her attention. Luke enjoys sports, sports stadiums, skyscrapers and the occasional drink at a pub. There is obviously more, but we can't give it all away on here!!! :)

PHILOSOPHY

In one word: Freewheelin'.

Neither of us could imagine living a scripted life (school -> work -> house -> kids -> death). We have always craved the adventure, freedom, and spontaneity that come with travel and have longed to assume this as our lifestyle for an indefinite period of time. We know that we need to experience the unknown before we can claim to have any idea what we want to really do with our lives. We’re hoping that our freewheelin’ philosophy and lifestyle will continue to lead us into new and unforgettable experiences.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We first heard of Couchsurfing a few years ago but never really thought much about participating in it until we began preparing for our journey. After more research on our part and some great testimonials from friends, we’ve come to realize that Couchsurfing is about much more than having random people crash on your couch. It’s about like-minded people learning from each other while sharing their homes and experiences. We've now had a couple surfing experiences and have loved and learned from them all.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

All of our surfing experiences so far have been absolutely amazing! There's nothing better than making fast new friends and gaining a great local perspective on a place you are visiting at the same time. We look forward to returning the favor and hosting when we settle back into life in Canada.

Music: Kendall is a music nut - Radiohead, Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Wilco, Neil Young, Ray LaMontagne, Joni Mitchell (like we said above, this could go on forever if we let it...). Luke is into electronic music.

Hiking the West Coast Trail on Vancouver Island / Driving across Canada / Experiencing the midnight sun in Oulu, Finland / Traversing the Scottish highlands / Spending the summers living at my island cottage in Lake of the Woods, Ontario / Hiking through desert, mountains and Palm tree Oasis' in Palm Desert, California/ 25 hour ferry rides in Fiji/ Swimming with dolphins in Kaikoura, New Zealand / Skydiving 15,000 feet / Camping atop a volcano in Maui, Hawaii / Snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef... so many amazing experiences!!

We would love to have someone teach us how to play the harmonica properly.
