About Me

I'm very open-minded and love making connections, which is part of the reason I love traveling so much!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing was recommended to me by fellow travelers. It seems to bring together a great community of people who are more interested in connections and seeing a place from a local’s perspective.

Interests

I enjoy finding a balance of work, play, socializing and relaxation. I believe I have a healing energy that travels through me which allows me to listen well and have a joyful presence. I’m interested in holistic medicine and am looking to study Ayurveda. My creativity is expressed in all aspects of my life, but mainly through sharing different ways of thinking, and painting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Live music is my favorite! I don’t have a favorite genre.
I prefer comedies over scary movies.
I like to read but tend to be more engaged in a conversations and experiences.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I enjoy and am fascinated by the little things in life so it's hard to choose one amazing thing I've done! One that comes to mind is being able to participate in a 100 km walkathon in Kenya to raise awareness for girls' education. We got to walk and camp in the Amboselli National Park with Maasai warriors and wake up to the sounds of lions, hyenas, zebras, and other animals. I was in seventh grade at the time and it was a very memorable experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach me how to cook traditional food. Teach me about the traditions, taboos and superstitions in your country. Teach me different ways of thinking and being. Or not! If you're busy I can easily stay out of the way!

If I'm the host, you can decide whether you just want shelter and some local knowledge, or a family/friend/tour guide in addition.

I can teach you what I know (see the Interests section!).

What I Can Share with Hosts

I like to go with the flow, learn, help, cook, try new things, and be low maintenance. I don't require many resources and I won't complain. I like kids and pets. I have a soft voice but that doesn't stop me from having a good conversation. I'm a great listener. I love to laugh. I don't hold onto anger. I accept that bad times will come along with the good. I like to question things. I don't follow any religion but I respect respect others who do. I love animals and don’t eat them. I would rather spend money on experiences than possessions. I'm an island girl that will still swim in cold water.
