Overview
About Me
I'm a current undergraduate at Yale University fascinated with how we know things to be true through socio-cultural analysis and data science. Born in Hong Kong, raised in New Zealand, and studying in the United States has exposed me to a range of cultures and forced me to consider how the social, cultural and historical assumptions we hold affect the lives we lead. I am particularly interested in youth and community development, impact assessment, and urban and smart public policy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travel because I believe the diverse people of this world have so much to teach my young and inexperienced self. I want to gain a deep understanding of the human condition, and be constantly challenged on the assumptions that I hold in my own life. While Couchsurfing is undoubtedly vulnerable on the part of the host and guest, I've experienced that vulnerability is the catalyst to the friendship, empathy, and joy that we as individuals and as a world so need.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was part of Plastic Bottle Kayak, a youth-led expedition which built kayaks completely out of plastic bottles and other recycled materials and kayak-ed them around Abel Tasman - New Zealand's most famous marine park to raise awareness of plastics and pollution, and to encourage students around the world to be creative and determined in their environmental pursuits.
