About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Explore the world, myself, its people, its sensuality and its conditions through photography and art.

ABOUT ME

ART, PHOTOGRAPHY, NIGHTLIFE & SUB-CULTURE - simplified.

I've been to 22 countries - one for every year of my life, and have lived in 3 continents. I was born in the US raised in the Philippines, I go to university in Madrid and am currently studying abroad in Brussels.

I'm a Communications Major with a keen interest in Art, Photography and everything visual.

I'm also extremely interested in the subcultures of the world, emerging or otherwise. Gotta love it

PHILOSOPHY

Workin' on it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm drawn towards artistic people, that is, people with an alternative vision of the world and who live an alternative, somewhat less-mainstream lifestyle.

I would couchsurf (almost) solely on the basis of getting to know a culture, sub-culture, or lifestyle photographically. Hippies, hipsters, goth kids, midwestern scene kids, the indie scene - whatever. I'd travel to a place just to get to know it photographically, and the ensuing result, chemistry and friendship would just happen organically.

If you're down for chilling with art/photography kids, and are comfortable with your way of life and would want it retold - it sounds like a party to me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I don't think these women were in couchsurfing per se, but...

At the ripe age of 18, I came to Spain without a student VISA and decided it would be a good idea to hide out alone in northern Morocco for a week during the beginning of Ramadan.

I took a train to the south of Spain, then a ferry to Tangiers from there. I met interesting people on the ferry, and the week in Morocco was eventful.

On the way back, however, the ferry was delayed by 4 hours, causing me to miss my train back to central spain from its southern port.

With nothing to do and nowhere to go, all the Spanish speakers rallied up and decided to stick to each other (me, a dude in his twenties and 2 older ladies) took the next ferry. But back in Spain it was too late to get a train back to Madrid, so going back up was out of the question. What ensued to me was the most random, yet beautiful road trip across the southern coast of Spain during sunset - from Tarifa, past Algeciras, Marbella all the way until Malaga.

I turned 19 in Malaga, in the house of the older ladies, to mint tea and gypsy pasta.
