Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

my first "real" CS experience, where I used the website to contact someone I didn't know, was a joy and wonder: 3 days and nights hanging out with a diverse array of wonderful people: herding wayward ducks, learning about a new city, meeting their friends, introducing them to my friends, cooking, eating, playing and talking together. a good time was had by all. this is what life should be like.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: SJ Tucker, Gaia Consort, funky celts, early Ani DiFranco, Nordic roots-rock

Fiction: Charles De Lint, Lois McMaster Bujold, Barbara Kingsolver, Sherman Alexie, character-oriented science fiction, utopian novels and anything else tasty that comes my way.

Non-fiction: Omnivore's Dilemma (Michael Pollan), Deep Economy (Bill McKibben), and anything else with good clues on how we're going to get ourselves out of this mess.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

i once snuck into some ancient British ruins with a bunch of crazy Australian blokes who apparently did that sort of thing all the time.

Teach, Learn, Share

i can teach a bit about cooking, including how to make tofu tasty for those not yet versed in those arts. a little juggling, a few songs, some basic web design and programming skills.

Countries I’ve Visited
