ABOUT ME

My Name is Ken Maillet, and I am 23 years old. I grew up in NorthEastern Pennsylvania in a small town called Milford. I guess you can say I was the normal, happy little American kid who grew up content with not traveling. That all changed my freshman year of college when I took an intersession class in China. Once I left the cage, I finally realized how constraining it truly was. Ever since then I have been on a quest to grow my life through the experience of others.

PHILOSOPHY

I live because of the Grace of Jesus Christ.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I was on a spur of the moment road trip across America when I was introduced to couch surfing. Not only was my experience of this country expanded, but the relationships I developed along the way were life changing. From that first CS experience and forward, I knew that this was going to be a resource that would help me grow as an individual.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couch Surfing has opened so many doors in my life. I used to eliminate places on my travel wish list because of cost, lodging, lack of knowledge, etc. But now that we have the collective knowledge of an army of CouchSurfers, we are all free to experience more than we ever dreamed imaginable

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

On the streets of Beijing, I was approached by a Chinese university student who asked me if I "knew Jesus". The group quickly grew and I was soon answering the questions of 10 inquisitive minds on the nature of Jesus and the idea of the Gospels. I hope I made an impact in their lives.
