One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In my senior year, my brother, Kendrick, was killed in a car accident. Losing the person I admired most in life could have been the beginning of the end for me but despite my grief, I made a conscious decision to honor the incredible life my brother had lived and to acknowledge that he, of all people, would not have wanted his death to ruin my life. Because he always looked for the good in life, he would have
wanted his death to somehow be a positive force in my life. His death made me come to understand the “here and now”, the meaning of togetherness, and that happiness was an achievable goal, helping me learn and grow. I'll never forget his radiance when I saw him last. He had been at our ranch in Colorado for two weeks and came back happier than ever.
