ABOUT ME

Wellllll... Grew up near Washington DC, went to university in Nova Scotia, Canada, randomly got a job in Germany, and now I've been living and working in DC for over a year. I can't lie, I'm not the best tourist, especially where I live. But that doesn't mean I don't want to get out there and do the touristy things, I just need someone who wants to do it and I'll tag along!

PHILOSOPHY

Hm, personal philosophy? The world is effed and I am going to sit back and enjoy the chaos. Things always seem to work out somehow, no matter how difficult they may be at the time. So although I may worry for a few minutes... Eventually I just shrug my shoulders and get through it. So what if you have to sleep on a bench in the train station for four hours before the first train in the morning? Beats paying 100 euros for a hotel room!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Well, now that I'm fully furnished and settled in DC, I might offer up my couch. I have yet to take up someone else's, but I plan to while traveling in Europe this year. I'm also totally willing to hang out, grab a meal or coffee, or go out for an evening of fun with someone who just wants someone to hang out with when they're visiting.

I survived the roadways of Crete without even a scratch.

Things I know: a bit of American Sign Language, French, and a tad more German; knitting and crocheting; how to make an origami crane; how to make a drink called a "Juicy Pussy"; the fate of mercury in the environment

Things I want to know: all the languages of the world, how infinity feels about being undefined, how definitions feel about being finite, and where the best hole-in-the-wall restaurants are
