I love the concept of couch surfing, and have friends that swear by it. I'm somewhat uncomfortable with leaving people in my house when I'm not around, but I don't mind giving travelers a warm shower and safe place to sleep when I am home though. I live in Ewa, which is probably better suited to those with transportation as Ewa is the suburb of our island. I'm a counter-culture kind of person, and suited to supporting people of a similar mindset. I don't plan on traveling anytime soon, but like the idea of building up good Karma now. I do have a female preference because I find them more trustworthy. I also have had female housemates (and currently do) for the same reason. I'm not against male visitors in need, I just wanted to explain my preference settings.

I love the concept of crowd sourcing people's needs, from loans to taxi replacements. I strongly support alternatives to giving money to large corporations and industries that only exist due to lobbying and corruption. Plus I have close friends that's support Couchsurfing and have benefited from it.
