About Me

Update: I’m traveling now so I can’t host

Hi, I’ve been semi-nomadic for almost a decade now and love to get to know people with very different backgrounds and experiences!

I'm originally from Singapore and lived and worked in many countries growing up. I spent my childhood in Canada then studied in the UK and US. Later produced documentary videos in Thailand, China, Taiwan and Singapore. Now I am somewhat of a digital nomad, mainly shooting videos and photos for clients as well as writing.

I have a bit of a nomadic streak, I like traveling to far flung places, understanding and living with local people there. Some of the best trips I've had include places like Afghanistan, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan and Greenland. I usually spend several months in each country, living and immersing myself in the local life.

I also enjoy sharing design ideas (esp of homes), films, music and travel tales with other curious people I meet on my trips. I really enjoy playing the keyboards and guitar, and once in a while, when I meet fellow musicians, we have a great time playing together. And I am also a private chef when I’m not traveling so I’d love to exchange food and recipes with people I meet on the road. Food is such a great connector!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm a writer and documentary producer so writing and shooting video and photos come quite naturally to me. I've also taught English and Mandarin in elementary and high school during my travels. I also play the piano/keyboards and guitar and am happy to share all that!

I enjoy cooking and would be more than happy to cook some ethnic dishes I’ve learned at home or while on my travels.

I'm also well-versed in social and digital media and can help with digital marketing and branding work.

What I'm really keen on learning more is building homes and restoring old homes. I love to also learn more about different styles of cooking and cuisines.
