About Me

ABOUT ME

I am a healthy, trim active senior. I have found that most people enjoy my company (lucky me!). I am reliable, courteous, educated, considerate, calmly extroverted, social, friendly. I can email a copy of my passport and written references to anyone interested in hosting me. I like to contribute to the costs of my accommodations and like to thank my hosts with a gift or a dinner out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think that the best part of travelling to new places is the opportunities to meet new people and make new friends. What better way than to spend time with them in their daily lives?

Interests

Travel, participating in local theater as an actor and backstage, working as a volunteer helping children and being active in my community as the President and member of the boards of the Oracle Historical Society (http://www.oraclehistoricalsociety.org/) and Oracle public Library. I also enjoy working on my 100+year-old home. Here are links related to me:

Music, Movies, and Books

Alternative as well as Irish and American folk music, Gone With The Wind, high quality SciFi, historical novels and fact books, thrillers, mysteries, as well as adventure films and books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sailed across the Sea of Cortez with two brothers-in-law and survived a storm on the way!

Teach, Learn, Share

I have extensive knowledge about American places, cultures and daily life in various parts of the USA and Mexico. I love learning about other cultures from everyday people who live them. I am an expert on the English language and enjoy helping others learn about how to use the language. I have a few personal enthralling real life adventure stories that make for great conversation (E.g.: I grew up in the 50s-60s in Arizona and New Mexico when some native Americans were still living as they had been for thousands of years.).

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good company, enlightening conversation, some compensation for their generosity in offering me housing.
