About Me

Hi, I'm Kento from Japan, currently pursuing my PhD in Tübingen, Germany. Since starting my degree, I've felt a strong desire to connect with others, which led me to join this platform. I'd love to share meaningful moments, whether through good conversation, enjoying food, music, or simply appreciating the weather together.

I value conversations where we respect and understand each other, creating a safe and welcoming space. Besides my research, I'm also a baseball player and believe that connections can go beyond words. So, feel free to reach out, and let's create some good memories together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I plan to use this platform mainly for two reasons. First, I'd like to meet people from all over the world, whether during academic conferences abroad or personal trips. Second, I want to connect with local people in my region by actively seeking meetup opportunities with open-minded individuals like you.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to music, I mostly listen to pop and classical genres. I tend to stick to mainstream music, probably due to a lack of exploration in other areas.

Regarding movies, I enjoy documentaries, especially those with a scientific angle, as well as comedies and romantic films. I love stories that make us question or appreciate the beautiful aspects of humanity, help us understand ourselves, or simply touch our hearts. Recently, I watched a movie called Her. It was more than just a story about a human and an artificial intelligence, referred to as an operating system in the movie. It beautifully portrayed how deep and real love can be, and how important it was for the characters.

Recently, I haven't been reading a lot of books, but I enjoy books related to math or science that expand my understanding of the world we live in. I also read literature and other genres. One book that I found fascinating is Flatland.

What I Can Share with Hosts

First of all, Japanese—not just the language but also insights into Japanese culture and other aspects of Japan. Additionally, knowledge of data analysis and baseball. I can also share my inner thoughts and perspectives on various topics. And, of course, I'm here to listen to you. If there's anything else I can offer, please let me know.
